Below Are The Quick Answers To Some Of Our Most Frequently Asked Questions..
Do I Need A Credit Card?
Credit cards are needed for the execution of a contract. However, as part of MK’ commitment to reducing some rental barriers, other means of payment can be discussed and/or allowed during reservations and pick up, including the use of Zelle, CashApp, Apple Pay, Cash and e-transfer for Canada.
What's Included In The Rental Charges?
Charges for a single rental transaction vary depending on the car category and state tax. However, four things are typically involved in the charges; the cost of renting a car, the state tax, cost of insurance for those who will want to purchase insurance and a $250 security deposit, typically refunded after one to three business days after the return of the vehicle.
Which Documents Are Needed To Pick Up A Rental Car?
Every renter needs a valid driver’s license issued by any US state or Canadian province for those living in the United States of America or Canada and a valid passport for visitors from other countries. A visitor will also need a copy of their country’s issued driver’s license to confirm driving fitness. In some locations, based on your driving records and the discretion of the MK representative, you may need at least collision insurance.
Can MK Car Rental Pick You Up?
Yes, our free pick-up team is available depending on the distance between your location and the Mk office you are requesting pick up from. Cars cannot be delivered to your home or address. Our logistics team can only pick you up to our office where our rental team will complete your rental contract and any other necessary documentation. However, in some cases, based on an agreement between our valued renters and the Mk representative on seat, cars can be delivered for an additional fee.
What About My Pets?
Pets are allowed in our rental vehicles. As a valued customer, you are advised to keep pets crated and return the rental car in clean condition and free of pet hair. If pet hair is found inside a rental vehicle after return, upon inspection, detailing fees will be charged.
How Old Must I Be To Rent With MK Car Rental?
Laws in most state allow for renters to be at least 25 years, although in some States renters’ ages start at 18. However, it will be based on the discretion of our representative in each location to issue a contract after considering certain factors, especially if you have full coverage insurance that can be verified with you as an added driver on the policy.
What About Security Deposit?
Mk Car Rental has a standard $250 security deposit policy across all its agencies or locations. At the time of renting the car, a friendly Mk team member will include $250 to your final bill and call it SD or Security Deposit.
When Do I Get My SD Back?
The Security Deposit is $250, typically refunded after one to three business days of returning the car. Mk friendly representative will not be able to instantly refund your security deposit.
What Are Some Things That Can Cause Your Security Deposit Not To Be Fully Refunded?
You may lose part or all your security deposit if you fail to return the rental vehicle with the exact fuel as at the time of picking it up. For sedans, if your gas or fuel level is less than the level you picked it up, $50 will be deducted from your SD and up to $100 for SUVs. Also, if you smoke in the vehicle, all your $250 SD will be withheld, and an extra charge imputed on your account if you returned the car without the exact fuel level. Moreover, if you return the vehicle with trash, $100 will be deducted from your security deposit to clean the vehicle.
What Grace Period Have I Before My Return Time?
What If I Reserve And Cancel?
Mk Car Rental understands that its clients can change their plans at any time. So, we made it easy to facilitate the reservation and cancellation process. If you cancel your reservation five days before picking up, you will be reimbursed in full. However, if you cancel below five days, 50% of payment will be withheld. No reimbursement can be made for cancellation twenty-four hours to scheduled pick up time.
What About Tickets?
During rental contracts, while a renter is using a Mk vehicle, tickets may occur from speed limit violations, red light and tolls. The law in all states require transfer of liability to the person or persons renting the Mk vehicle at that time. If a ticket is sent to our office on a vehicle, you are renting or have rented, Mk will send you pictures of the ticket or tickets. For all tickets, renters will have five days from the date of receiving the picture to pay to Mk. Once that payment is made, Mk will transfer payment to the respective state, county, city or town. If payment is not received in five days, Mk will transfer liability to the renter by providing the renter’s information, including a copy of his/her ID card to the respective state, county, city or town.
